1. Indian Army’s 508 Army Base Workshop overhauls Tatra 6x6 Euro Variant

The Indian Army's 508 Army Base Workshop has successfully completed the overhaul of the first Tatra 6x6 Euro Variant vehicle. Building on the successful overhaul of the Tatra 8x8 Euro Variant, this achievement further strengthens the Army's indigenous maintenance capabilities and operational readiness. The Tatra 6x6 Euro Variant is an emission-compliant, high-mobility, all-terrain heavy vehicle operated by the Indian Army and built in India through a technical collaboration between Czech manufacturer Tatra Trucks and BEML (Bharat Earth Movers Limited).

2. MTA programme enters bid stage after technical assessment

The Indian Air Force's Medium Transport Aircraft (MTA) programme has entered the bid stage after the completion of the technical assessment, according to a report by The Tribune. The Ministry of Defence is preparing to issue a Request for Proposal (RFP) to foreign vendors for manufacturing the aircraft in India. The RFP will seek commercial bids and details of the transfer of technology being offered. It will be followed by field trials, cost negotiations and, eventually, contract signing.

3. Chief of Staff of the Côte d'Ivoire Air Force meets Air Chief Marshal AP Singh

Maj Gen Koffi N'guessan Alfred, Chief of Staff of the Ivorian Air Force, met Air Chief Marshal AP Singh, Chief of the Air Staff, during his official visit to India. The discussions focused on issues of mutual interest and ways to further strengthen bilateral defence cooperation and enhance military-to-military engagement.

4. France to respond to LoR for 114 Rafale jets by mid-August

France is expected to respond to India's Letter of Request (LoR) for 114 Rafale fighter jets by mid-August, according to a report by ANI. The LoR was issued in May. Following the French response, negotiations on pricing and other aspects of the deal will begin. Under the proposed arrangement, 94 aircraft will be manufactured in India, while the remaining 20 will be delivered in flyaway condition.

5. Anduril rolls out YFQ-44A Fury from Ohio facility

Anduril has rolled out the YFQ-44A Fury combat aircraft from the production line at its Arsenal-1 facility in Pickaway County, Ohio. The rollout comes just 557 days after the project was announced. The facility, located near Rickenbacker Airport, is expected to produce up to 150 YFQ-44A Fury drones annually.

6. Saab receives order for two GlobalEye AEW&C aircraft from Middle East

Swedish defence company Saab has received an order for two GlobalEye Airborne Early Warning and Control (AEW&C) aircraft from a country in the Middle East. The United Arab Emirates (UAE) is currently the only GlobalEye operator in the region, having ordered three aircraft in 2015 and two more in January 2021, with deliveries completed between 2020 and 2024. GlobalEye is a multi-domain AEW&C platform that combines advanced active and passive sensors to provide long-range detection and identification of targets across the air, sea and land domains.
