1. DRDO develops indigenous radome for LCA Tejas Mk-1A

The Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO) has developed an indigenous radome for the Light Combat Aircraft (LCA) Tejas Mk-1A, according to a Times of India report. The development paves the way for replacing imported radomes currently used on fighter aircraft. The technology, developed by the Research and Development Establishment (Engineers) [R&DE(E)], Pune, has successfully met all structural, mechanical and electromagnetic performance requirements and is now ready for transfer to industry for production.

2. Over 20 people killed in PoK violence

Violence has escalated in Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (PoK), with clashes between activists protesting alleged electoral rigging and law enforcement authorities leaving at least 20 people dead, according to the Joint Awami Action Committee (JAAC), which is spearheading the protests. The protests began on June 7 and have continued in multiple phases, culminating in a long march towards Muzaffarabad on July 26–27 after talks with the authorities failed.

3. Shield AI signs MoU to integrate ALTUS-LSA solutions on V-BAT

Shield AI and ALTUS-LSA have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to integrate the V-BAT unmanned aircraft with ALTUS' KMB Hunter tactical kinetic payload solution, including its M3NTOR battle management software. ALTUS-LSA is a leading Greek defence technology company developing unmanned capabilities for the Hellenic Armed Forces, NATO, and other European and international defence and security organisations.

4. Airbus A400M conducts its first firefighting mission

The Airbus A400M, equipped with a roll-on/roll-off retardant delivery system, has conducted its first operational firefighting missions over the Lacanau wildfire, marking the aircraft's debut in an active wildfire response. The platform has been adapted to deliver up to 20 tonnes of fire retardant, complementing France's dedicated civil security fleet rather than replacing conventional water bombers.

5. US CENTCOM and Saudi Armed Forces conduct strikes against IRGC-backed targets

The U.S. Central Command (CENTCOM) and the Saudi Arabian Armed Forces conducted precision strikes in Iraq on July 28 against Iran-aligned militant targets that the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) allegedly directed to attack U.S. forces and Saudi energy infrastructure. U.S. and Saudi fighter aircraft struck multiple logistics and weapons sites across eastern Iraq in response to more than 30 IRGC-directed drone attacks over the previous 72 hours.
