1. Army and Police are pillars of country’s security: Rajnath Singh

Raksha Mantri Rajnath Singh emphasized the importance of unity between the Army and police in ensuring national security, saying that both forces share the same spirit in safeguarding the country.
Addressing the Police Commemoration Day programme at the National Police Memorial in the national capital on October 21. Singh drew from his experience as a former Home Minister and his current role as Raksha Mantri, highlighting the critical roles both the police and the Army play in the country's security.
2. Brahmos missile with 800 km range to be inducted

India plans to induct the new 800-km extended-range BrahMos supersonic cruise missiles in two years. While over 200km Astra air-to-air missiles are also slated for production in 2026-27.
The Brahmos missile had a range of 250 km, and the range was increased gradually to 500 km, and now to 800 km. The 800km missile is expected to be ready in two years.
3. Exceptional coordination among forces brought Pak to its knees: PM Modi

Prime Minister Narendra Modi said the exceptional coordination among the three armed forces - fear instilled by the Navy, extraordinary skills of the Air Force, and bravery of the Army - forced Pakistan to its knees during Operation Sindoor
He was addressing the Navy personnel on board INS Vikrant off the Goa coast. He said the indigenously built aircraft carrier was a "powerful symbol of Aatmanirbhar Bharat".
"A few months ago we had seen how INS Vikrant had given Pakistan some sleepless nights. INS Vikrant, the name itself puts an end to the courage of the enemy," Modi said.
4. Taiwan detects three sorties by Chinese military aircraft, five vessels around its territory

The Taiwanese Ministry of National Defence said it had detected 3 sorties, one crossed the median line and entered Taiwan's northern Air Defence Identification Zone (ADIZ).
In a post on X, the Ministry of National Defence said, 3 sorties of PLA aircraft and 5 PLAN vessels operating around Taiwan were detected up until 6 a.m. 1 out of 3 sorties crossed the median line and entered Taiwan's northern ADIZ. We have monitored the situation and responded.
5. Hamas will be eradicated if they breach the Gaza deal: Trump

US President Donald Trump said Monday that he would give Hamas a chance to honor the Gaza truce deal with Israel, but warned the group would be eradicated if it fails to do so.
“We made a deal with Hamas that they're going to be very good, they're going to behave, they're going to be nice," Trump told reporters at the White House as he hosted Australian Prime Minister Anthony Albanese. "And if they're not, we're going to go and we're going to eradicate them, if we have to. They'll be eradicated, and they know that."
6. Australia accuses China of dropping flares near its P-8A aircraft

Australia has accused a Chinese military aircraft of releasing flares close to its P-8A patrol jet over the South China Sea. There was no harm to the aircraft and its personnel.
China also accused the Australian jet of “illegally intruding” into China’s airspace, adding that it had to be expelled. The encounter is the latest in a series of tensions between the two nations’ forces in the region, where China claims its overall territorial integrity.
