1. Dr Vijay Kumar Saraswat, Fmr Secy, DRDO and Past Member, NITI Aayog, joins D-Propulse

Former Secretary, DRDO and Past Member, NITI Aayog, Dr Vijay Kumar Saraswat has joined the Board of Deeppropulse Aerospace (D-Propulse) as Chairman with effect from 8 June. He will oversee the company’s rapid progression through technology readiness levels for its cutting-edge Rotating Detonation Engine (RDE) technology.

2. PM Modi commissions 3 warships into the Indian Navy

Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi commissioned three warships into the Indian Navy in Kolkata, West Bengal, on 21 June — INS Dunagiri, an advanced stealth frigate; INS Sanshodhak, a Survey Vessel (Large); and INS Agray, an Anti-Submarine Warfare Shallow Water Craft.

INS Dunagiri is the fifth Nilgiri-class frigate under Project 17A and the second vessel of the class built by GRSE (Garden Reach Shipbuilders & Engineers) Limited. INS Sanshodhak is the fourth ship in the Survey Vessel (Large) class. INS Agray, the fifth vessel in the Anti-Submarine Warfare Shallow Water Craft (ASW-SWC) series, is equipped with advanced sonar, torpedoes, anti-submarine rockets, and a Combat Management System.

3. Pakistan Defence Minister threatens military action over Indus Waters Treaty

Pakistan's Defence Minister, Khawaja Asif, has warned that Pakistan could consider military action against India if it concludes that its water security is under serious threat, amid growing concerns over the future flow of rivers governed by the Indus Waters Treaty.

Speaking during an ARY News interview, Asif said the government was closely monitoring alleged violations and any attempts to alter the situation on the ground.

4. IAF to acquire nine decommissioned Jaguar fighters from the UK

The Indian Air Force is set to acquire nine decommissioned Jaguar strike aircraft from the United Kingdom to support the sustainment of its ageing Jaguar fleet. The aircraft will be dismantled for spare parts, including Adour engines, avionics, landing gear, and hydraulic systems.

5. INS Tarkash docks at Port Louis, Mauritius

INS Tarkash, the stealth frigate of the Indian Navy, docked at Port Louis, Mauritius, on 20 June during its ongoing operational deployment in the South-Western Indian Ocean Region.

During the port call, the Commanding Officer will interact with senior government and military officials. The ship’s crew will also engage with Mauritius Coast Guard personnel and share experiences on specialised maritime subjects.
