1. Raghu Vamsi Aerospace Group to establish  50-acre integrated superalloy manufacturing facility 

Raghu Vamsi Aerospace Group has announced the establishment of a 50-acre integrated superalloy manufacturing facility in Telangana with a planned investment of over ₹600 crore. The announcement was made on the opening day of the Farnborough International Airshow 2026, one of the world's leading aerospace and defence exhibitions.

The facility will be among India's few integrated manufacturing plants for high-quality nickel-based superalloys, combining state-of-the-art vacuum melting, forging, heat treatment, vacuum casting, powder metallurgy and other forming capabilities under one roof. Designed with an annual production capacity of approximately 5,000 tonnes, it will manufacture round bars, wires, forgings, castings, tungsten carbide powders and other specialised products. Commercial production is targeted to commence in January 2028.

2. CDS General NS Raja Subramani meets French Armed Forces Chief

General NS Raja Subramani, Chief of Defence Staff (CDS), met with General Fabien Mandon, Chief of the Defence Staff of the French Armed Forces, during his official visit to India. Following a ceremonial Guard of Honour and a solemn tribute at the National War Memorial, the two leaders held strategic talks to further strengthen India-France defence relations across key domains.

3. Deputy Commander of CMF meets Southern Naval Command Chief of Staff

Commodore Dan Thomas, Deputy Commander of the Combined Maritime Forces (CMF) of the Royal Navy, met Rear Admiral Prakash Gopalan, Chief of Staff (COS), Southern Naval Command (SNC), and visited various training units in Kochi on the sidelines of Operation Southern Readiness 26-2. The interaction highlighted the collaborative spirit and shared commitment to advancing maritime cooperation through professional engagement and mutual understanding.

4. Bangladesh Army Commander visits MKE facility in Türkiye

General Waker-Uz-Zaman, Chief of the Bangladesh Army, along with his delegation, visited the MKE Gazi Cartridge Factory. MKE is a state-owned weapons supplier to the Turkish Armed Forces.

The delegation examined the facility's production processes and products. Discussions were also held on potential areas of collaboration. The Bangladesh Army operates several Turkish defence platforms, including the Otokar Cobra and Cobra II 4×4 armoured vehicles, the Roketsan TRG rocket system, and the Baykar Bayraktar TB2 drone.

5. BAE Systems, Boeing and Saab team up to offer T-7 trainer for the RAF

BAE Systems, Boeing and Saab have signed a teaming agreement to advance their partnership on a next-generation pilot training solution for the UK, centred on the Boeing T-7 system. The agreement also commits to establishing a UK-based final assembly and integration facility.

The T-7A Red Hawk, developed for the US Air Force, has now reached Milestone C in its development lifecycle, allowing the programme to move into low-rate initial production. In 2018, the US Air Force awarded Boeing a $9.2 billion contract for 351 T-7A advanced trainers, 46 simulators and associated support.

6. Canada joins GCAP fighter programme as an observer

Canada has joined the Global Combat Air Programme (GCAP) as an observer. On July 21, Italian Defence Minister Guido Crosetto, Japanese Defence Minister Koizumi Shinjirō, UK Secretary of State for Defence Wes Streeting, and Canadian Minister of National Defence David J. McGuinty met in London to discuss Canada's participation. The defence ministers of Italy, Japan and the UK welcomed Canada's entry as an observer.

GCAP is a multinational programme involving Italy, the United Kingdom and Japan, with the shared ambition of developing a next-generation fighter aircraft by 2035. Leonardo, BAE Systems and Japan Aircraft Industrial Enhancement are the industry's partners in the programme.
