1. Chief of Staff Committee unveils Military Quantum Mission Policy Framework

The Chiefs of Staff Committee unveiled the keystone document on the Military Quantum Mission Policy Framework, outlining the policy and roadmap for integrating Quantum Technologies into the Indian Defence Forces to achieve technological dominance in future wars amid a rapidly evolving technological landscape.
The guiding document focuses on integrating the four pillars of Quantum Technologies — Quantum Computing, Quantum Materials & Devices, Quantum Communication, and Quantum Sensing & Metrology — while ensuring jointness in this niche domain.
The vision document was released by General Anil Chauhan, Chief of Defence Staff, in the presence of Admiral Dinesh Kumar Tripathi, Chief of the Naval Staff; General Upendra Dwivedi, Chief of the Army Staff; and Air Chief Marshal A.P. Singh, Chief of the Air Staff, according to a post by HQ IDS on X.
2. Indian Army vehicle plunges into gorge

An Army vehicle skidded off the road and plunged into a deep gorge in Doda district of Jammu and Kashmir on Thursday, killing 10 soldiers and injuring 11 others.
The accident occurred at the 9,000-feet-high Khanni Top along the Bhaderwah–Chamba interstate road around noon, when the driver of a bulletproof Army vehicle heading towards a high-altitude post lost control, causing the vehicle to plunge into a 200-foot-deep gorge.
3. Indian Navy 1TS interacts with the Indonesian Navy

Senior Officer 1TS (First Training Squadron) and Commanding Officers of Indian Navy ships Shardul and Sujata, along with ICGS Sarathi, interacted with Laksamana Muda Rear Admiral Deny Septiana, Commander of Naval Area Command I (Kodaeral I), exchanging views on shared maritime interests.
The visit included joint yoga sessions and training interactions at Kodaeral, symbolising the enduring partnership between the two navies.
4. DRDO to showcase innovations at Republic Day Parade 2026

DRDO will showcase key innovations at the 77th Republic Day Parade at Kartavya Path and Bharat Parv 2026. The systems on display will include the Long Range Anti-Ship Hypersonic Missile (LR-AShM) and the DRDO tableau titled ‘Naval Technologies for Combat Submarines’.
The LR-AShM, to be showcased with a launcher during the parade, is designed to meet the Indian Navy’s coastal battery requirements. It is a hypersonic glide missile capable of engaging both static and moving targets, and can carry various payloads. The missile features indigenous avionics and high-accuracy sensor packages.
The tableau will highlight indigenously developed systems that act as force multipliers for conventional submarines, including the Integrated Combat Suite (ICS), Wire-Guided Heavy Weight Torpedo (WGHWT), and Air Independent Propulsion, aimed at ensuring underwater combat supremacy.
5. HII completes sea trials for USS Zumwalt

Huntington Ingalls Industries’ shipbuilding division has completed builder’s sea trials for USS Zumwalt (DDG-1000). The trials followed an extensive modernisation programme, preparing the Navy’s first Conventional Prompt Strike (CPS) platform.
USS Zumwalt, the lead ship of the Zumwalt-class destroyers, arrived at the Pascagoula shipyard in August 2023 for modernisation. The ship was moved onto land, where major upgrades were completed, including integration of the CPS weapon system and replacement of the twin 155mm Advanced Gun Systems with new missile tubes. In December 2024, the ship was undocked and underwent final preparations for operational readiness.
