1. India Slams Pakistan at UN, Warns Terrorism Will Have Consequences

First Secretary at India’s Permanent Mission to the UN, Petal Gahlot, said Pakistan has a long-standing policy of cross-border terrorism and warned that terrorism by Pakistan will have consequences. The statement came as India exercised its Right of Reply at the UN General Assembly after Pakistan Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif raised Jammu and Kashmir and accused India of various actions. She also referred to Osama bin Laden’s presence near Pakistan’s military academy and rejected Pakistan’s allegations against India.

2. Jaishankar Signs UN Convention Against Cybercrime

External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar signed the UN Convention against Cybercrime on the sidelines of the UN General Assembly in New York. Jaishankar said the convention would strengthen international cooperation for a safer digital environment. India’s signing comes during the 81st UNGA High-Level Week, where Jaishankar is scheduled to address the General Debate today.

3. India-US Yudh Abhyas Continues with Advanced Firepower Training

Exercise Yudh Abhyas 2026 continues at Auli in Uttarakhand and Mahajan Field Firing Range in Rajasthan. The exercise involves around 600 personnel from each country and includes drones, autonomous systems and contemporary weapons, alongside training for Integrated Battle Groups in mountainous and semi-mountainous terrain.

4. India-France Varuna Maritime Exercise Underway

Indian Navy ship INS Trishul has arrived at Toulon, France, for the 24th edition of the bilateral maritime exercise Varuna. The exercise includes harbour and at-sea professional engagements, cross-deck visits and operational interactions between the Indian and French navies.

5. Indian Coast Guard Joins QUAD-at-Sea Mission

Indian Coast Guard ship Shaunak sailed from Chennai for Perth on September 25 as part of the QUAD-at-Sea Ship Observer Mission. Six officers from India, Japan, Australia and the US have embarked on the ship for professional exchanges and shipboard activities. The mission involves the four QUAD countries and is aimed at improving maritime interoperability and coordination.

6. Jaishankar Meets Russian Foreign Minister Lavrov at UNGA

External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar met Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov on the sidelines of the UN General Assembly in New York. The two discussed ongoing issues and reviewed India-Russia bilateral relations and cooperation under BRICS.
