1. Defence Secretary meets Assistant Chief of Staff of Malaysian Armed Forces



Defence Secretary Rajesh Kumar Singh met Assistant Chief of Staff (Defence Operations & Training), Malaysian Armed Forces, Major General Amer Mahmud Bin Abdul Rahman on July 1. Both sides reviewed the productive deliberations of the 12th Sub-Committee Meeting on Military Cooperation (SCMC) and reaffirmed their commitment to further strengthening India–Malaysia defence ties in support of a secure, stable and prosperous Indo-Pacific.

2. India, Malaysia convene Sub-Committee on Military Cooperation



The 12th India–Malaysia Sub-Committee on Military Cooperation convened in New Delhi on July 1. Co-chaired by Joint Secretary (International Cooperation) Amitabh Prasad and Assistant Chief of Staff (Defence Operations & Training), Malaysian Armed Forces, Major General Amer Mahmud Bin Abdul Rahman, the meeting reviewed bilateral defence ties, reaffirmed the commitment to peace and stability in the Indo-Pacific, and laid the groundwork for deeper cooperation in training, technology and maritime security.

3. Air Marshal Tejinder Singh assumes charge as CISC



Air Marshal Tejinder Singh, PVSM, AVSM, VSM, assumed charge as the Chief of Integrated Defence Staff to the Chairman, Chiefs of Staff Committee (CISC) on July 1. An NDA alumnus and decorated fighter pilot with over 4,500 flying hours, he has held several key appointments, including Air Officer Commanding-in-Chief of South Western Air Command. He also paid homage at the National War Memorial and was accorded a Tri-Service Guard of Honour.

4. Air Marshal Ashutosh Dixit assumes charge as VCAS



Air Marshal Ashutosh Dixit, PVSM, AVSM, VM, VSM, assumed the appointment of Vice Chief of the Air Staff (VCAS) of the Indian Air Force today. Prior to this, he served as the Chief of Integrated Defence Staff to the Chairman, Chiefs of Staff Committee at Headquarters IDS. On assuming charge, Air Marshal Dixit paid homage to the nation's bravehearts at the National War Memorial and reviewed a Guard of Honour at Vayu Bhawan, New Delhi.

5. China releases footage of truck-mounted EMALS drone launcher



China has released footage of a truck-mounted Electromagnetic Aircraft Launch System (EMALS), showcasing a mobile platform capable of launching fixed-wing drones without the need for a conventional runway. The video shows a fixed-wing unmanned aerial vehicle mounted on a long launch rail carried by three heavy trucks. The electromagnetic catapult rapidly accelerates the drone along the rail before launching it into the air within seconds, allowing it to transition seamlessly to powered flight using its own engine.
