1. India and the UAE hold talks to advance defence cooperation

India and the UAE held a meeting in New Delhi on June 24 to advance defence cooperation under the Strategic Defence Partnership Framework. The discussions, co-chaired by Joint Secretary (International Cooperation) Shri Amitabh Prasad and UAE Brigadier Staff Jamal Ebrahim Mohamed Ebrahim Almar-Zooqi, focused on expanding defence-industrial collaboration, fostering innovation, leveraging niche technologies, and enhancing maritime security.
2. Indian Army contingent participates in Exercise Khaan Quest 2026

The Indian Army contingent participating in Exercise Khaan Quest 2026 undertook joint UN peacekeeping drills, including patrolling, cordon-and-search operations, and humanitarian assistance activities. The exercise is aimed at enhancing interoperability, communication, and coordinated responses in complex operational environments. It is being conducted at the Five Hills Training Area in Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia, from June 20 to July 3, 2026.
3. UAE delegation visits Indian Army installations

A delegation led by the Deputy Commander of the UAE Land Forces visited the Dot on Target Division as part of its tour of Indian Army field formations and military installations. The delegation witnessed mechanised manoeuvres and integrated operations, including demonstrations of UAS and Counter-UAS capabilities. During interactions, both sides exchanged views on contemporary security challenges, emerging defence technologies, and evolving operational concepts, reaffirming their commitment to strengthening military-to-military cooperation and bilateral ties.
4. Lockheed Martin awarded multiyear contract for THAAD missile production

Lockheed Martin has been awarded a multiyear undefinitized contract by the U.S. Department of Defense worth up to $35 billion to increase production of the Terminal High Altitude Area Defense (THAAD) system. The effort is supported by more than $9 billion in investments through 2030 and the expansion of 20 facilities across the United States. THAAD is a combat-proven missile defence system designed to intercept short-, medium-, and intermediate-range ballistic missiles both inside and outside the atmosphere.
5. US CENTCOM kills senior ISIS leader in airstrike

U.S. Central Command (CENTCOM) announced that its forces conducted a precision airstrike in northwestern Syria on June 19, resulting in the death of senior ISIS leader Ali Husayn al-‘Ulaywi. The strike forms part of ongoing U.S. efforts to disrupt and eliminate terrorist networks that pose threats to American interests and the U.S. homeland.
