1. Raksha Mantri to address Tri Services seminar 

Raksha Mantri Rajnath Singh will address the Tri-Services seminar in New Delhi on Tuesday, the Ministry of Defence informed through a post on X.

At around 11.00 AM today, 30th September, Raksha Mantri Shri Rajnath Singh will address the Tri-Services Seminar in New Delhi," it said.

2. Trump says Pak PM backs his plan to end Gaza conflict

US President Donald Trump has said Pakistan Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and Field Marshal Asim Munir back his plan to end the Gaza conflict "100 per cent", as he listed them among the world leaders "very much involved" in the negotiations on the issue.

This afternoon, after extensive consultation with our friends and partners throughout the region, I'm formally releasing our principles for peace, which people have really liked," Trump said at a joint news conference with visiting Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu in the White House on September 29.

These are done in total consideration and working with the nations that we're talking about. All of these nations have made contributions to those suggestions. I want to thank the leaders of many Arab and Muslim nations for their tremendous support in developing the proposal along with many of our allies in Europe,he said.

3. Indian Navy Chief and Kenyan Navy Chief discuss ways to boost defence cooperation

Navy Chief Admiral Dinesh K Tripathi and Kenya Navy Commander Maj Gen Paul Owuor Otieno on Monday held talks in New Delhi, which covered a wide range of issues relating to maritime cooperation.

Maj Gen Otieno is on an official visit to India from September 28 to October 2, to further strengthen maritime cooperation and bilateral ties, the defence ministry said.

On September 29, the Kenya Navy commander was received by Admiral Tripathi at South Block lawns, where he was accorded a ceremonial guard of honour.

4. Russia warns of escalation if the US supplies Tomahawks to Ukraine

Russia said on September 29 that its military was analysing whether or not the United States would supply Tomahawk cruise missiles to Ukraine for strikes deep into Russia, a step that Russian officials say could trigger a steep escalation.

U.S. Vice President JD Vance said on September 28 that Washington was considering a Ukrainian request to obtain Tomahawks. The jet-powered subsonic Tomahawk is the US's principal long range cruise missile. It has a 2500-km range and carries a 450 kg conventional explosive charge. 

President Donald Trump has not made a final decision, and he has been wary of escalating the Ukraine war into a confrontation with Russia. But the fact that he is now weighing such a move shows the extent of his frustration with President Vladimir Putin's refusal to agree to a ceasefire since he hosted the Russian leader at a summit in Alaska last month.

5. Axiscades to supply counter-drone systems to the Indian Army

Axiscades has secured a new defence order from the Indian Army to supply man-portable counter-drone systems (MPCDS), a system designed to counter aerial threats.

Earlier this month, the company's subsidiary, Mistral Solutions, secured a Rs 150 crore order from the DRDO for the development of 10 Electronic Control Units for the cooling system of the Su-30 MKI as part of the aircraft's upgrade.

In a statement, Axiscades said its subsidiary Axiscades Aerospace and Technologies has bagged an order from the Indian Army for 12 MPCDS. The company did not disclose the financial details of the deal.

6. Ukraine authorized to strike deep in Russia: US Envoy

US President Donald Trump's envoy, Keith Kellogg, has floated the possibility of long-range strikes by Ukraine against Russia with American weapons, following the administration's recent pivot on the conflict.

In a Fox News interview broadcast on September 28, Kellogg was asked whether Trump had authorized strikes deep into Russian territory days after Moscow was accused of sending fighter jets and drones that violated the airspace of several European nations.

"Reading what (Trump) has said and reading what Vice President (JD) Vance has said, as well as (Secretary of State Marco) Rubio, the answer is yes," he said.

7. France and Sweden send counter-drone teams to Denmark

France sent a military anti-drone unit to Denmark, and Sweden is planning to do the same, as the allies seek to help secure an informal European Union summit in Copenhagen this week against aerial threats, following recent flights of unidentified drones in Danish airspace. A report in Defensenews.com says the French military has deployed a team of 35 personnel with a Fennec light helicopter and “active anti-drone capabilities,” the country’s Armed Forces Ministry said in a statement Monday. Meanwhile, Sweden will send a military unit with anti-drone capabilities following a Danish request, Prime Minister Ulf Kristersson said in a briefing in Stockholm. The main purpose is to protect the Copenhagen area from unwelcome drone visits, drone attacks for a period of time,” Kristersson said.
