1. Talisman Sabre Exercise

The top defence officials of India and USA held key bilateral discussions. Both sides explored ways to deepen strategic military co-operation, regional security coordination and operational readiness in the Indo-Pacific.

Talisman Sabre exercise is a joint defence exercise between Australia and USA and now it has evolved into a multinational exercise.India is participating for the first time in this exercise.

Air Marshal Ashutosh Dixit, Chief of Integrated Defence Staff to the Chairman Chiefs of Staff Committee (CISC) met with Lt. Gen Joshua Rudd, deputy commander of Pacific Command as part of India’s high-level engagement multilevel exercise hosted in Australia. 

The discussions were about enhancing joint efforts, defence collaboration and to uphold peace in the Indo-Pacific region.

2. India to Manufacture V-BAT Drone

India is going to manufacture a state of the art fixed wing drone vertical take-off and landing (VTOL) capabilities under technology transfer from the US.

The Shield AI has proposed that it  will establish a manufacturing facility in India along with its Indian partner (Jindal Steel Works) JSW defence. 

Right now, the Indian Air Force under 4.5 $ Billion emergency procurement program is procuring drones after Operation Sindoor. 

V-BAT is designed for use in dense and harsh environments. The compact, patented design allows for its faster deployment and requires minimal logistics making it ideal for the agile operations on the battlefield.

3. NIBE Defence to Manufacture PULS Rocket System 

NIBE Defence has signed a Technical Collaboration Agreement (TCA) with the Israeli Company Elbit Systems to transfer the technology of Precise and Universal Launch System also known as PULS to be manufactured in India.

The PULS rocket system has a range of 300 km and it is made by the Israeli company Elbit Systems.

NIBE defence will manufacture and assemble these systems in India. The agreement includes collaboration on design, development, manufacturing and integration of the PULS system. The system will be produced under license not only for domestic use but also for export.

4. Rudra and Bhairav Brigades

Indian Army proposed a creation of new all arms Rudra Brigades and agile “Bhairav” light commando battalions to strengthen its readiness along with China and Pakistan.
This was announced by the Indian Army Chief General Upendra Dwivedi on the day of Kargil Vijay Diwas.The Rudra concept builds around the idea of Integrated Battle Group (IBG). The idea was first proposed by Major General Bipin Rawat in 2018.
Rudra Brigades are a part of Army’s efforts to become a leaner, quicker and agile force. It is structured to deliver technological driven responses to border scenarios without needing
additional troop deployments.The Bhairav light commando units are capable of rapid border deployment and quick strikes.

5. MoD signs contract with BEL for FCR (Fire Control Radars)

Bel and the defence ministry inked an agreement for the acquisition of radars on 25 July under the Buy IDDM scheme worth Rs 2000 crore. The radar is a Fire Control Radar and it is for the Army. The name of the radar is Atulya.

The Fire Control Radars will be used to monitor air borne threats such as fighter aircrafts, attack helicopters and enemy drones.

This would enhance the capabilities of the Air Defence Regiment and increase operational readiness of the Indian Army. At the same time the provision for 70% indigenous content will
contribute to the Indian defence ecosystem.

6. DRDO develops 500kg pre-fragmented bomb


The DRDO has developed a 500 kg pre-fragmented bomb for the Indian Air Force (IAF) and it will be used by the Russian and Jaguar aircraft. The designing of the bomb is done by the ARDE (Armament Research and Establishment) lab located in Pune.

The bomb falls under the high-explosive general-purpose category. The 500 kg pre-fragmented super bomb is designed to cause maximum destruction within a limited area. The destruction of the bomb which is due to its smart design causes 360 degrees destruction to the targets such as launchpads, radars and runways.


7. Turkey develops Gazap Bomb and NEP-2 Ghost

Turkey has developed and unveiled two of its most powerful bombs Gazap and NEP-2 Ghost. Both of these were unveiled at the IDEF (2025) Exhibition held in Istanbul Turkey.The weight of each of these bombs is 970 kg and can be dropped from a F-16 fighter jet. NEP-2 is a bunker busting bomb and falls in the category of GBU- 57 MOP (Massive Ordinance Penetrator) and the Gazap Bomb is a fragmentation bomb.

The bombs are developed by the Turkiye’s National Defence Ministry Research and Development (R&D) centre.The R&D centre modified the explosive and filler design of the bomb for maximum Destruction.

8. India Testfires Pralay Missile

India today successfully test-fired its indigenous short-range ballistic missile ‘Pralay’ from Dr APJ Abdul Kalam Island off the Odisha coast.
Two tests of the missile were conducted, one was yesterday and the other one is today. The missile developed by the DRDO is a state-of-the-art quasi-ballistic, surface-to-surface missile engineered for high-precision strikes in conventional battlefield scenarios. It has a strike range between 150 and 500 kilometres and is designed specifically to defeat missile interceptor systems.

9. Naval Group Data claimed to have been stolen

The hackers have claimed to have attacked French defence giant Naval Group.

Anonymous hackers have claimed to have stolen up to 1 terabyte of data, including the source code for submarine weapon systems which are of the Naval Group.

The Naval Group is the company of France which manufactures conventional submarines and nuclear submarines and it also manufactures Scorpene submarines for India.

In a statement, the Naval Group said that it had launched an investigation into the matter and was working with the French government.
