1. Raksha Mantri Rajnath Singh visits TKMS facility in Kiel

Raksha Mantri Rajnath Singh visited the Thyssenkrupp Marine Systems (TKMS) submarine-building facility in Kiel, accompanied by German Defence Minister Boris Pistorius. The visit provided valuable insights into cutting-edge submarine technologies and advanced naval capabilities, reinforcing India-Germany cooperation in the maritime domain.
2. Rajnath Singh meets German Defence Minister Boris Pistorius in Berlin

Raksha Mantri Rajnath Singh held bilateral talks with Germany’s Defence Minister Boris Pistorius in Berlin today, advancing India-Germany strategic defence ties. Both sides discussed co-development and co-production in niche technologies, enhanced military cooperation, and signed key agreements, including a Defence Industrial Cooperation Roadmap and a UN Peacekeeping Training pact. India also invited Germany to participate in Ex-TARANG SHAKTI 2026.
General Kevin B. Schneider, Commander PACAF and Air Component Commander, U.S. Indo-Pacific Command, called on Air Chief Marshal AP Singh, CAS, Indian Air Force, during his official visit to India. He laid a wreath at the National War Memorial, was accorded a ceremonial Guard of Honour, and interacted with senior leadership of the Indian Air Force.
3. Indian Air Force operationalises emergency landing facility

The Indian Air Force operationalised an Emergency Landing Facility on the Purvanchal Expressway, demonstrating its capability to conduct air operations beyond conventional airbases. The exercise reinforces enhanced operational preparedness, flexibility, and rapid response in disaster or contingency scenarios.
4. India and Egypt co-chair Joint Defence Committee meeting

The 11th India-Egypt Joint Defence Committee meeting was held in Cairo from 20th to 22nd April. Both countries reaffirmed their commitment to further strengthening defence ties, a key pillar of their Strategic Partnership. Inaugural Navy-to-Navy Staff Talks were also held. The Indian delegation was led by Joint Secretary Amitabh Prasad, while the Egyptian delegation was led by Staff Major General Ahmed Mohamed Omar of the Egyptian Armed Forces.
5. US Secretary of the Navy unveils Trump-Class battleships

US Secretary of the Navy John C. Phelan unveiled BBG(X) at the Sea-Air-Space Symposium 2026. BBG(X) is built for the fight ahead and designed for manufacturability. No commander should have to choose between air defence, ASW, ASuW, or long-range strike. This platform delivers all of it at the highest level. Battlegroups will integrate unmanned systems, embarked staff elements, layered defences, and high-speed long-range fires. The next-generation battleship anchors the high end of the Fleet of the Future and delivers decisive combat power from the 2030s into the next century.
