1. Raksha Mantri Rajnath Singh to visit Germany


Raksha Mantri Shri Rajnath Singh will undertake an official visit to Germany from April 21 to 23 to further strengthen the strategic defence partnership between the two countries. During the visit, he is scheduled to hold bilateral talks with his German counterpart, Mr Boris Pistorius, and other senior government leaders.


Discussions will focus on enhancing defence industrial collaboration, strengthening military-to-military engagements, and exploring opportunities in emerging domains such as cyber security, artificial intelligence, and drones. A Defence Industrial Cooperation Roadmap and an Implementing Arrangement for Cooperation in UN Peacekeeping Operations Training are likely to be signed in the presence of both Defence Ministers.

2. Dinesh Mahur to lead Indian delegation at DSA 2026, Malaysia


A four-member Indian delegation, led by Additional Secretary (Defence Production) Mr Dinesh Mahur, will represent India’s defence manufacturing and export ecosystem at the 19th edition of Defence Services Asia (DSA) and National Security Asia (NSA) 2026, scheduled in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, from April 20 to 22.


The India Pavilion will be jointly inaugurated by the High Commissioner of India to Malaysia, Mr B.N. Reddy, and Mr Dinesh Mahur on April 20, 2026. The event will witness participation from Defence Public Sector Undertakings such as AWEIL (Advanced Weapons and Equipment India Limited), MDL, BDL (Bharat Dynamics Limited), MIL (Munitions India Limited), and HAL (Hindustan Aeronautics Limited), along with private defence firms.

3. Exercise Cyclone-4 concludes


Exercise Cyclone-4 concluded on April 19. The seven-day exercise, held from April 12, involved special forces of the Indian Army and the Egyptian Army.

4. Titagarh Rail Systems launches fourth DSC for Indian Navy


Titagarh Rail Systems Limited has launched the fourth Diving Support Craft, DSC A23 (Yard 328), for the Indian Navy. The vessel is primarily designed for deep-sea diving, submarine rescue operations, and search and rescue missions. The launch was graced by Vice Admiral B. Sivakumar and Mrs Deepa Sivakumar.

5. US forces disable vessel attempting to enter Iranian port


U.S. forces operating in the Arabian Sea enforced naval blockade measures against an Iranian-flagged cargo vessel attempting to sail toward an Iranian port on April 19. The guided-missile destroyer USS Spruance (DDG 111) intercepted M/V Touska as it transited the North Arabian Sea at 17 knots en route to Bandar Abbas, Iran.


After multiple warnings over six hours went unheeded, Spruance directed the vessel to evacuate its engine room and disabled its propulsion by firing rounds from its 5-inch MK 45 gun. U.S. Marines from the 31st Marine Expeditionary Unit later boarded the vessel, which remains in U.S. custody.
