1. India-Cambodia Armies enhance defence cooperation

Major General Akaash Johar, Additional Directorate General (International Cooperation), called on Lieutenant General Mao Sophan, Commander of the Royal Cambodian Army. The two officers met on the sidelines of the ongoing Army-to-Army Staff Talks in Phnom Penh. The discussions focused on enhancing joint military engagement, expanding training cooperation and further strengthening bilateral defence ties between India and Cambodia.

2. General Upendra Dwivedi, COAS, visits the Special Operations Command of Australia

General Upendra Dwivedi, Chief of the Army Staff, visited the headquarters of the Special Operations Command Australia and interacted with the Commander, Special Operations Command. He was apprised of the capabilities of Australian Special Forces, joint training frameworks and operational preparedness mechanisms. The leaders also discussed avenues to enhance bilateral engagement further, reaffirming the enduring partnership between the armed forces of both nations.

3. President of India reviews International Fleet Review 2026

President of India Draupadi Murmu, the Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces, reviewed the International Fleet Review 2026 from INS Sumedha, the Presidential Yacht, off Visakhapatnam. Sailing past 85 ships from 74 nations, the Review reflected India’s maritime strength, professionalism and commitment to collective security under the theme “United Through Oceans”.

4. CSL to supply six LNG-fueled container vessels for CMA CGM

CSL marked a major milestone with the signing of a contract for the construction of six LNG fueled Container Vessels for CMA CGM, one of the largest container shipping companies in the world. The contract was signed by Jose VJ, CMD, CSL and Shri Rodolphe Saade, Chairman & CEO of CMA CGM. The event was graced by the presence of Shantanu Thakur, Minister of State, Ministry of Ports, Shipping and Waterways and Vijay Kumar IAS, Secretary, MoPSW. This landmark collaboration showcases CSL’s growing stature on the global stage and India’s emergence as a trusted hub for building next-generation, environmentally friendly vessels, contributing towards greener shipping.

5. Exercise KHANJAR XIII concludes

The Joint Military Exercise KHANJAR XIII, between Special Forces of India and Kyrgyzstan, concluded on February 17 with the Closing Ceremony at Misamari, Assam. The Exercise was conducted from 04 to 17 February. 

Conducted in a spirit of camaraderie and professionalism, the exercise enhanced mutual understanding, operational synergy and shared tactical proficiency. Over the course of the exercise, participating troops honed skills in counter-terror operations and special operations drills, strengthening interoperability and trust.

The Exercise reflected the deepening defence partnership and reaffirmed a shared commitment to regional stability, security and enduring military cooperation between the Indian Army and the Kyrgyz Army.
