1. Zorawar Light Tank induction delayed

The Zorawar Light Tank now faces a two-year induction delay, according to a report by The Economic Times. Developers are enhancing the tank's protection levels, a move that adds weight and introduces technical challenges. Originally planned for induction in 2027 for operations in high-altitude areas, the timeline has now been extended. Developed rapidly in response to China's Type-15 light tank, Zorawar is designed to offer superior mobility and firepower.
2. First Made-in-India C-295 conducts maiden flight

The first Made-in-India Airbus C-295 military transport aircraft has completed its maiden test flight from the Final Assembly Line in Vadodara, marking a major milestone for Indian aviation and defence manufacturing. The flight is a crucial step in the aircraft's post-production testing process. As the first of 40 aircraft to be built in India, the successful test flight advances the programme's goal of delivering the first domestically manufactured C-295 to the Indian Air Force later this year.
3. MoD inks contract for procurement of 20 ECGNSS jammers for Indian Navy

The Ministry of Defence has signed a contract with Accord Software and Systems Private Limited (ASSPL), Bengaluru, for the procurement of 20 Enhanced Capability Global Navigation Satellite System (ECGNSS) Jammers for the Indian Navy at a total cost of ₹449 crore. The systems will have a minimum indigenous content of 75 per cent. The contract, signed under the Buy (Indian–Indigenously Designed, Developed and Manufactured) category, was inked in the presence of Defence Secretary Rajesh Kumar Singh in New Delhi on June 10.
4. Boeing teams up with Diehl Defence and Rohde & Schwarz for MQ-28 Ghost Bat bid in Germany

Boeing has expanded its German MQ-28 Ghost Bat industry team by partnering with leading German defence firms Diehl Defence and Rohde & Schwarz. The companies will explore the integration of German weapons, sensors and communications systems into the MQ-28 offering for the German Air Force. The MQ-28 Ghost Bat programme is led by Boeing Defence Australia.
5. Airbus and Quantum Systems sign agreement for C-UAS integration on helicopters

Airbus Helicopters and Quantum Systems have signed a cooperation agreement at ILA Berlin 2026 to jointly explore the integration of Quantum Systems' advanced counter-UAS (C-UAS) interceptor capabilities onto Airbus military helicopters, beginning with the multi-role H145M. The partnership builds on a shared commitment to strengthening Europe's defence ecosystem and providing armed forces with agile, combat-ready solutions against modern asymmetric airborne threats.
